Background

Established in 1992, Nguyen Kim Trading has emerged as the leading retail chain of electronic appliances in Vietnam, boasting over 100 supermarkets nationwide. For over a year, I have worn two hats at Nguyen Kim Trading: Product Designer and Product Manager. This dual role allowed me to contribute significantly to various design changes and implementations.

Daily Responsibilities

My responsibilities are divided roughly 70% towards design and 30% towards product management. I collaborate closely with management and various teams, including marketing, design, content, development and sales.

Scope of Work

My experience encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from initial planning and research to gathering user needs, crafting product strategies, defining scope and roadmaps and prioritizing tasks.

This includes:

User research and ideation
Flowchart and sketch creation
Building rapid prototypes
Conducting usability testing
Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders

During my tenure, I spearheaded projects that have demonstrably improved the user experience:

Website redesign: Implemented a mobile-first approach, prioritizing a modern, user-friendly interface tailored for the Vietnamese audience.
App development: Developed new features and created targeted programs to support sales team campaigns.

Changing from Web app to React Native app makes the experience faster, smoother and build more promotions for the app. Use the same source code and be able to build two platforms iOS & Android.
